CAREER CHANGE... ./def. to undergo a modification in work
Since nobody is accepted into our program without an aptitude for tour directing, a career change is inevitable.
At the end of the training, participants sit with an instructor to discuss their future as a Tour Guide/Manager. Whether you strive to work with students, sail the Nile or lead groups through the jungles of Brazil we help find the Tour Operator for you.
Firstly, a resume is put together geared specifically at a career change into guiding. We will discuss interviewing skills, strengths and weaknesses that each participant must face, as well as professional expectations in the industry.
T.G.T. will provide contact information for Tour Operators who hire our graduates. Although we do not guarantee employment, our current rate of graduates employed in the industry is 79%.
Several Tour Operators have come to T.G.T. looking for staff. When this happens, all of our graduates are alerted via email of the career change opportunity.
TGT will continue to support and assist you with your travel work forever. Three times per year, T.G.T. publishes “The view from the front seat”. This is a newsletter for Tour Guides that provides new ideas for the road, tips for conducting successful tours and lists job opportunities.
Networking events are held yearly in order to meet the important players in the tourism industry.
