Employment Assistance
Since nobody is accepted into our program without an aptitude for tour directing, placement after graduation is taken very seriously.
At the end of the course each participant will sit down with an instructor to discuss the appropriate Tour Operator match. Whether you strive to work with students, seniors or even conduct canoe trips we find the Tour Operator for you.
T.G.T. has several Tour Operators that look for our graduates each year. Depending on what kind of touring you wish we will discuss the best course of action for employment.
Firstly a resume will be put together for the travel industry. When changing careers it is important to recreate your sales pitch.
We will discuss interviewing skills, strengths and weaknesses that each participant must face, as well as professional etiquette.
T.G.T. will provide names addresses, and contact information for Tour Operators who hire our graduates. Although we do not guarantee employment our current rate of graduates employed in the industry is 81%.
Several Tour Operators have come to T.G.T. looking for staff. When this happens all of our graduates are alerted via email of the job opportunity.
Three times per year T.G.T. publishes “The view from the front seat”. This is a newsletter for Tour Guides that provides new ideas for the road, tips for conducting successful tours and lists job opportunities.
Networking events are held yearly in order to meet the important players in the tourism industry.
